Sleepwalkers is a 1992 horror film based on a story by Stephen King. Mary Brady (Alice Krige) and her teenage son, Charles (Brian Krause), are creatures known as Sleepwalkers. They appear in public as attractive humans, but they are really energy-devouring shapeshifters who naturally look like mutant cats. The only creatures that they are afraid of are real cats, which can kill Sleepwalkers by scratching them. When they move to a new town, Mary tasks her son with the job of finding a young virgin so that they can drain her life force and satisfy their growing hunger. Charles soon meets and charms a beautiful, innocent, high school student named Tanya Robertson (Madchen Amick). As Mary pressures Charles to eat her energy, he soon realizes that it is going to be more difficult than he anticipated. Meanwhile, the cats in town sense the presence of the Sleepwalkers and gather for a fight.
