Slow Burn is a neo-noir crime thriller centered on Ford Cole (Ray Liotta) an ambitious district attorney campaigning for mayor on the promise to clean crime from the city and arrest local crime boss Danny Ludin. Cole finds himself suddenly caught in political and personal crisis as the body of Issac Duperde (Mekhi Phifer) is discovered in the bed of his lover and assistant DA, Nora Timmer (Jolene Blalock). While initially an apparent case of self-defense, enigmatic video clerk Luthor Pinks (LL Cool J) approaches Cole with evidence suggesting layers of duplicity and ulterior agendas behind the death. Following the threads, Cole finds himself the center of disjointed and tangled webs of political machination, hidden identities, conspiracy and criminal ties. With pressure mounting, Cole races to reveal hidden mysteries and shrouded secrets but none are whom they claim, every motive is suspect and someone will stop at nothing to bring Cole's investigation and ambitions to an end.
