Smokin' Aces 2: Assassins' Ball is an action crime film directed by P.J. Pesce that acts as a prequel to Smokin' Aces centering on Walter Weed (Tom Berenger), an unassuming nothing of a desk jockey working for the FBI whose life is turned upside when it seems a bounty is placed on his head. The mysterious boss Hal Leuco has placed a hit on poor Walter and a number of assassins take him up on the offer, including the poisoning femme fatale Ariella (Martha Higareda), torturing Finbar Òthe SurgeonÓ McTeague (Vinnie Jones), the psychotic Tremor family (Michael Parks, Autumn Reeser, Maury Sterling, and C. Ernst Harth), and the elusive face-changing Lazlo Soot (Tommy Flanagan). When the FBI take Weed to a defense bunker hidden in a small town, the unit stands in wait for the killers as they come out of the woodwork, knowing they would act at a certain time. Each of the assassins works in their unique ways, the small town turns into a bloodbath all in the attempts to kill off Weed.
