Sneakers is a 1992 crime caper about a team of hackers and thieves who are forced to use their talents to steal a dangerous device, and then forced to steal it back after learning they've been helping a maniacal criminal bent on bringing anarchy to the world. This exciting film features a star-studded ensemble cast, including Robert Redford, Sydney Poitier, Dan Aykroyd, Ben Kingsley, Mary McDonnell, River Phoenix, and David Strathairn, and James Earl Jones. Redford plays Martin, a talented hacker who leads a team of security specialists who sell their advanced and highly adaptable hacking abilities to companies interested in testing their current security measures. The team seems to have hit pay dirt when the NSA contracts them to steal a valuable code-cracking device being designed for the Russian government. However, the device falls into the wrong hands, and Martin's crack-team is the world's only hope at preventing a massive terrorist attack. Sneakers is a classic heist film featuring smart writing that saw huge box office success upon its release.
