Snowball Express is a 1973 Disney comedy directed by Norman Tokar. When New York accountant Johnny Baxter (Dean Jones) inherits a the Grand Imperial Hotel in Silver Hill, Colorado, he thinks he has hit the big time. Clearly unhappy in his present job, Baxter quits at the lure of his deceased Uncle's claim that the hotel brings in $14,000 a month. Determined to take control of the hotel himself, Baxter uproots his family and moves them to the Rockies. When they arrive, wife Sue (Nancy Olson), son Richard (Johnny Whitaker) and daughter Chris (Kathleen Cody) are shocked to find a huge, but run-down, hotel in the middle of nowhere. They also find Jesse McCord (Harry Morgan), an easy-going caretaker, living in a shed. While Johnny is anxious to evict him, the family urges him to keep him on as a bell boy. With a mountain of work ahead of them, Johnny eventually settles on turning the property into a ski resort. Short of money, Johnny goes to town for a loan. This sets in motion a series of events that lead to a wild cross-country snowmobile race that will either kill Johnny or make him rich.moreless
