Snowboard Academy is a 1996 comedy directed by John Shepphird. The film features a bitter rivalry between skiers and snowboarders on a local ski slope. For a long time, the skiers on this slope were thought of as snobs who only worried about techniques and the snowboarders were considered to be brainless thrillseekers. The rivalry erupts when the son, Chris Barry (Corey Haim), of ski slope owner, Mr. Barry (Joe Flaherty) is challenged. His older brother taunts Chris' ability to teach other snowboarders. This leads Chris to organize a Snowboard Academy where he claims he can turn any person into a snowboard champion in under two weeks. The classes fill up quick and Chris is confident he can achieve his goal. However, one of Chris' newly enrolled students, Rudy James (Jim Varney) proves to be a bigger challenge than he anticipated. Will Chris prove his brother wrong, or are there just some people who cannot be helped?
