So This Is New York is a big time comedy perfect for the Big Apple. Ernie Finch (Henry Morgan), a small town clerk and his wife Ella (Virginia Grey) inherit a small fortune but are unsure of what to do with the windfall. Ella and her sister Kate (Dona Drake) decide that a trip to New York is in order and drag the reluctant Ernie along for a wild ride. After arriving in the big city, they run into some shady characters that see a golden opportunity to take the adventurers for every penny. Ernie must display some street smarts of his own if the group is to have any hope of escaping New York intact. Directed by Richard Fleischer, this 1948 production features legendary humorist Henry Morgan in his only leading actor role.
