So Young, So Bad tells the tale of a 1950s reform school for girls that does more damage than good. Directed by Bernard Vorhaus, the film centers on the young Dr. John H. Jason (Paul Henfried) as he begins his tenure at the Elmview Corrective School for Girls. At first, Jason is oblivious to the abusive treatment the girls are receiving until one of the inmates, Dolores Guererro (Rita Moreno), escapes from the school. She is soon apprehended and returned to the school. Puzzled over her need to escape, Jason questions the girl and discovers Dolores' teachers were torturing her. Jason realizes that this treatment is demoralizing the girls and reinforcing their bad habits. As Jason digs deeper, he finds no end to the corruption in the school. He suggests a plan of reform but is blocked by the women responsible for tormenting the girls. The more he tries to change, the harder the matrons resist. It soon becomes clear that neither side is going to give up without a fight.moreless
