Soccer Mom is a goofy comedy about a mother masquerading as a famous soccer coach in order to help her daughter. Becca Handler (Emily Osment) is teenager having a hard time dealing with the ordinary pains of growing up, as well as her father's recent passing. When her soccer team starts losing games, they hire Italian soccer sensation Lorenzo Vincenzo (Dan Cortese) to provide a spark and get the girls back to winning again. But the wachy Italian refuses to coach the team, so in a desperation attempt to keep her daughter from losing it completely, Becca's mother Wendy (Missi Pyle) dresses up as Lorenzo and coaches the team in his place. The hijinks ensue, as not only is Wendy not recognized, but the team starts to win, and win big, and she strugggles with telling her daughter or not. Soccer Mom, while containing strong language and sexual content, is a heartwarming tale of family with a healthy dose of the importance of self confidence and believing in your dreams.
