Solange: Live in Miami is a concert film that was released in 2010. It shows a live concert performed by Solange (Solange Knowles) at the Jackie Gleason Theater in Miami Beach, Florida. Solange primarily performs songs in the R&B and soul genre that are heavily influenced by the Motown girl groups of the 1960s and 1970s. Her biggest hits include "Sandcastle Disco", "T.O.N.Y." and "I Decided", which were also the subject of music videos she made in 2008 and 2009. Most of her songs in this concert are from her second album, Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams. This album has much more original material than her debut album, which relied on established songwriters and producers. The lyrics in her songs explore the theme of independence. The songs incorporate electronic music, and Solange also makes heavy use of downbeat for the first time in this album. These influences come from live music Solange listened to during her recent trips to Europe.moreless
