Someone Like You is a romantic comedy film directed by Tony Goldwyn that follows one woman’s struggle to understand the how's and why's of relationships. Jane Goodale (Ashley Judd) has an interesting job as a production assistant on a recently syndicated talk show hosted by Diane Robert (Ellen Barkin). When a new producer, Ray Brown (Greg Kinnear), steps on the scene, he and Jane begin a hot and heavy romance despite the fact that Ray already has a long-term girlfriend called Dee. When he asks her to move in and he actually has to break up with Dee, he gets cold feet, leaving Jane heartbroken and homeless. In her focused goal of revenge, she moves in with Eddie Alden (Hugh Jackman), the womanizing producer with a rolling door of one-night stands, and starts writing a column for her friend Liz’s (Marisa Tomei) men’s magazine on men’s issues with honesty and insecurity, under the guise of a sweet old woman named Dr. Marie Charles. Her jilted theories surprised more than herself when it strikes an agreement in her female readers and pushes for Jane to start taking a deeper look at whether or not Ray would ever be the last man she’d ever love.moreless
