Something Like a Business is a 2010 comedy written and directed by Russ Parr. The film centers around a young man named JoJo (Kevin Hart) who inherits his uncle's escort business after he passes away. JoJo flounders helplessly in his new position as he attempts to meet all the demands of his unruly employees. JoJo also competes with his biggest competition - D.C.'s best pimp (Clifton Powell). And if that isn't enough, JoJo also has to conceal his business from the cops, who are on his tail 24/7. Suddenly the escort business isn't all it was cracked out to be for JoJo. The film also includes performances by Donnell Rawlings, Jay Anthony Brown, Kym Whitley, and David Alan Grier. Something Like a Business harps on racial stereotypes, and exaggerates them in a comedic fashion. The film deviates from the typical Hollywood comedy and is likely to surprise you. Be sure to watch Something Like a Business if you enjoy good, light-hearted comedy.moreless
