Somewhere in Time is a romantic drama released in 1980 that tells the story of a man in love who will stop at nothing to find the love of his life, even if it means traveling back in time. Richard Collier (Christopher Reeves) is a Chicago playwright who meets a mysterious older woman on the opening night of his play. Her words to him don't make any sense until he sees a painting in his hotel that shows a woman, Elise McKenna (Jane Seymour), to whom he feels a strong connection. After undergoing self-hypnosis, he learns that the woman in the painting is the one he loves, and that he must go back in time to be with her. His journey back in time unites him with his love, but living in a time period that is not his own causes its own problems. Can Richard keep the woman he loves, or will time keep them apart?
