Son of Cleopatra is a 1964 Italian drama directed by Ferdinando Baldi. The film chronicles the life of El Kabir (Mark Damon), a tribal desert leader who is hell-bent on ending Roman oppression of his Egyptian countrymen. In a series of successful attacks, El Kabir takes over a number of Roman military bases, leaving their commanders to report back to Governor Petronius (Livio Lorenzon). Meanwhile, after being insulted by his fellow tribal leader for looking European, El Kabir finds out from his surrogate father that he is actually the son of Caeser and Cleopatra. When El Kabir's surrogate brother is tortured and killed by the Romans, he kidnaps Livia (Scilla Gabel), the daughter of Petronius, to convince her to stop her father from destroying the tribes. Petronius, however, only has revenge on his mind. In the end, Livia must tell her father the truth and convince him that El Kabir is a man of honor or they will all perish.
