Son of Godzilla is a 1967 Japanese monster film and the eighth installment in the Godzilla series. A team of scientists is hard at work on a state-of-the-art device designed to control the weather. However, as the humans meddle with the natural forces of nature, they accidentally create giant praying mantis monsters, called Kamacuras. The Kamacuras begin excavating a mysterious egg from beneath a pile of earth. When the egg hatches, a baby Godzilla emerges. The scientists can only watch helplessly as Godzilla arrives to rescue the infant dinosaur monster, named Minilla. Godzilla quickly trains Minilla in the ways of monsters, teaching the child how to roar and use his atomic ray. The stage is set for a monster battle of epic proportions, as Gozilla, Minilla, Kamacuras, and a giant spider named Kumonga face off on Monster Island, sending humans scattering for their lives beneath them. Son of Godzilla is a classic of monster cinema, starring Tadao Takashima, Akira Kubo, and a large cast of terrifying monsters.moreless
