Written and directed by Jeff Stanzler, Sorry, Haters is a 2005 American film starring Robin Wright, Abdellatif Kechiche, Elodie Bouchez, and Sandra Oh. The film tells the story of Ashade (Kechiche), a Syrian New York City cab driver is unsure of how to proceed when his next customer is the beautiful Phoebe (Wright). She quickly decides that she's going to be friends with Ashade, who is hesitant to further a relationship with her. When she learns that of his family's legal problems, she further involves herself in his life, causing him great anxiety. When he attempts to step away from the friendship, Phoebe then retaliates and makes his life a living hell. In order to set things straight, Ashade must work together with Phoebe, who is the only one able to sort out his life. Distributed by IFC Films, Sorry, Haters shows the tension and anxiety present in every day life in a post 9/11 New York city.
