Soul Maid is a 2007 comedic fairytale that plays off the internal conflict that people sometimes have when dealing with religion and romantic love. Moses (Joe Schenck), the hero of the story, is a gay man who makes his living cleaning houses in only his underwear. He finds himself in a Sleeping Beauty type situation when he meets the love of his life, David (Tom Bailey). However, while going about his daily activities, Moses is regularly interrupted by involuntary religious visions dominated by the goddess Glintentica. Glintentica is not a passive goddess, but is intent on putting an end to the entire gay population. Her first mission is to split up Moses and his dream man by taking over David's soul and interfering with their relationship. Moses struggles to find a solution to stop Glintentica from ruining his life and eliminating gay men, but part of him also fears her promised second coming.
