Soundman follows Igby Walter (Wayne Pere), a socially awkward sound mixer who falls in love with a violinist Juliet (Elaine Chappius). They are both working on a science fiction western version of Shakespeare's Hamlet, titled "Dead Cowboys." As the low-budget film begins to come together, Igby vows to get Juliet more parts in the films despite her lack of talent. This isn't an easy task for Igby, and he has to resort to extortion and strong-arm tactics to make it happen. This, however, ends up being counterproductive. His actions do him more harm than good and land him in hot water in this 1998 comedy. The film offers a pleasant look into the social awkwardness that many people have despite their good intentions. It will leave viewers on the edge of their seats as they attempt to guess what will happen next as the plot thickens. Soundman was directed by Steven Ho.
