Space Jam is the hugely successful 1996 Warner Brothers live-action/animation film starring legendary NBA star Michael Jordan and the cast of Looney Tunes. Jordan plays a fictionalized version of himself, a recently retired NBA star who decides to try his hand at a career in major league baseball. Diabolical extra-terrestrial amusement park owner Mister Swackhammer (Danny DeVito) is looking to drum up a little business with some new entertainment in his park. The Looney Tunes are exactly what he's looking for, and he sends his minions, the Nerdlucks, to bring them back. The Looney Tunes want no part of Swackhammer's plans and Bugs challenges the Nerdlucks to a basketball game where the winner will decide the Looney Tunes fate. Bugs and his Looney Tunes should easily defeat the short Nerdlucks, but soon find out the Nerdlucks have help. NBA stars Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing, Larry Johnson, Shawn Bradley and Muggsey Bogues are under the control of the Nerdlucks, who transform into the gigantic Monstars as they steal the NBA stars talent and skills. If Bugs Bunny and his Looney Tunes friends can convince Michael Jordan to return to basketball, they might have a chance. But will Jordan give up his shot at baseball glory to save the Looney Tunes from captivity?moreless

  • Are you kidding me, an 8.3 rating?!

    2.0
This movie is just another poor excuse to ruin Looney Tunes. It's curt, boring, and just not fun to watch.
  • How Did this Get a Good Rating?

    4.0
This was one of the worst animated movies ever. The plot could have and should have excluded Michael Jordan from this film, but this was all made so that Mr. Jordan could promote his sneakers "Air Jordans" to kids. The transitions between Michael's story of sucking at baseball and The Looney Tunes conflict of not wanting to be slaves to the alien theme park are extremely awkward. The story contains many plot holes, and other questionable choices to the story. The humor is weak, which leaves almost nothing positive about this movie which is why I can't figure out why this has a good score. In conclusion, if you're looking for a movie to watch DO NOT PICK THIS ONE!!!

    Plot: 40% (F-)

I've seen stupider plots, but the way this one was executed was just horrible.

    characters: 60% (D-)

The Looney Tunes are somewhat still themselves, and perhaps if the writers chose a different plot the other characters could have been great.

    Voice Acting: 70% (C-)

there's nothing really bad about it.

    Humor: 10% (F-)

The humor is lacking, and even when they try the jokes fall flat on its face.

    Average: 40% (F-)moreless
