Sparkle is a 2007 British independent comedy brought to you by Tom Hunsinger and Neil Hunter (Lawless Heart). The film centers around an ambitious 22-year old man named Sam Sparkles (Shaun Evans) who moves to London with his mother, Jill (Lesley Manville), and attempts to kickstart a career in PR. He gets lucky when he runs into the director of a famous PR company, an older woman named Sheila (Stockard Channing), at a local bar. After a couple rounds together, Sam begins to woo Sheila, and before he knows it, he's got her wrapped around his finger. Sam is offered a position with her firm, which he accepts eagerly and with pride. But he jeopardizes throwing all of his hard work to waste when he pursues Sheila's daughter Kate (Amanda Ryan). After several unexpected twists, Sam is forced to decide between his career and the girl of his dreams. Not everyone can have their cake and eat it too.
