Speed Racer: The Next Generation - The Great Escape continues the saga of the popular 70s Japanese anime series. The original Speed and Trixie hid their son, Speed Jr. (Kurt Csolak), from society, placing him in an orphanage and leaving him the key to the Mach 5. His Family now is his mechanics, Conor (Carter Jackson) and Lucy (Sahra Mellesse), and his robot chimp named Chim-Chim. In this episode, Conor's invisibility device placed in the Mach 5 malfunctions, leaving Speed and Chim-Chim invisible. The evil racetrack owner Zile Zazic (Dave Skigen) wants the Mach 5 for himself, and he hires his goons to steal it. Unable to see the car, they kidnap Conor instead. Their invisibility malfunctions again while trying to save their mechanic, causing Speed and Chim-Chim to reappear during the rescue. Spritle (Peter Fernandez), Speed's secret uncle and manager of the racetrack, calls the police. Zile escapes and leaves his daughter Annalise (Michal Friedman) in command of the racetrack. Annalise breaks up with Racer X (Robbie Sublett), Speed's secret older brother and biggest rivalry, soon after her father disappears. With Zile and his goons on the run and Speed and his family right behind them, Annalise takes over her father's plans to capture the Mach 5.moreless
