Speed Racer: The Next Generation - The Secret of the Engine (The Movie) is an animated film that chronicles the life of Speed Jr., the son of a popular 70s Japanese anime character. With Speed Sr. (Peter Fernandez) and Uncle Spritle (Peter Fernandez) secretly watching over, Speed Jr. (Kurt Csolak) and his new family, mechanics Conor (Carter Jackson) and Lucy (Sahra Mellesse), are in trouble again. Speed Sr. sends his friend Dr. Chezko to install a device in the Mach 6, which will complete its design. The racecar can now run without fuel, and Speed Jr. makes plans to display the new invention at the racetrack. The evil Zile (Dave Skigen) and his daughter Annalise (Michal Friedman) steal Chezko's device while Spritle takes the family on an outing. Speed Jr. and his brother, Racer X (Robbie Sublett), then pose as some of Zile's goons and steal it back. Speed Jr. enters the race but soon finds out that he needs to hit 820 mph and get airborne for the device to work. Faced with the options of losing his life or winning the race, Speed Jr. must decide what to do.moreless
