Split Decisions is a 1988 action drama film by director David Drury, based on the story by David Fallon, and starring Gene Hackman, Craig Sheffer, and Jeff Fahey. A story of family, revenge, and sports, Split Decisions is about one young man's quest to avenge his late brother's death, even if only symbolically. The young man, Eddie McGuinn (Craig Sheffer) is an amateur boxer with a bright future. His brother, Ray McGuinn (Jeff Fahey) alos boxes, and very well, but his hotheaded tendencies lead him to align himself with mobsters. When he refuses to intentionally lose a fight agains Julian "Snake Pedroza (Eddie Velez), he is brutally murdered by members of the mafia. Following his brother's death, Eddie sets aside his Olympic dreams and focuses, instead, on publicly beating Pedroza in a boxing match. Split Decisions, also known as Kid Gloves, is rated R and thus best for mature audiences.
