Splitsville, also released under the title Operation Splitsville, is a 1999 comedy directed by Lynn Hamrick. It follows James (David Berry), a fifth grade student whose parents have just gone through a particularly nasty divorce. To cope with the unwelcome change in lifestyle, he decides to create a support group at his elementary school for divorce victims such as himself. He calls his new group the Loyal Order of Divorce, and the only rule is that your parents must be divorced in order for you to join. The new club quickly becomes the latest fad in the school, and its members decide to take advantage of their new high status. So they start to gang up on the kids who aren't members because their parents are still together through bullying, teasing, and playing childish pranks. Some students, either desperate to join James's club or anxious to get out from under its thumb, begin taking measures to cause their parents to divorce so they can become members themselves, and pandemonium quickly ensues.moreless
