Stage Fright is a 1950 dramtic thriller directed by Alfred Hitchcock. Eve Gill (Jane Wyman) thinks that she has the perfect life. She has dreams of becoming a huge star, and with the help of her friend, fellow actor Jonathan Cooper (Richard Todd), she knows she has a chance at rising to the top. However, she is devastated when Jonathan comes to her and confesses that he has had an affair with Charlotte Inwood (Marlene Dietrich). Charlotte came to Jonathan and begged for help after she impetuously killed her husband. In his attempt to hide the evidence, Jonathan accidentally wound up becoming a prime suspect in the murder. Eve has always harbored romantic feelings for Jonathan and instantly agrees to help him clear his name. Eve and Jonathan head to her father's house, Commodore Gill (Alastair Sim), which offers the perfect hideout. However, when Eve starts to suspect that Charlotte deliberately framed Jonathan, the plot thickens and their friendship is severely challenged.moreless
