2006
Rating:
PG-13
Stay Alive is a 2006 thriller about a group of friends who come across a violent video game that mirrors similar deaths in reality. Directed by William Brent Bell, the movie begins with a random group of teens are mysteriously killed while playing the game based on the true story of a 17th century killer called -- the Blood Countess. Soon after, the game innocently falls into the hands of a different set of five gaming friends who begin to play and start noticing similar mishaps. The manner of death in the game begins happening in real-time whenever one of the teens suffers a defeat and slowly, the group begins to dwindle. Team leader, Hutch (Jon Foster), and his girlfriend, Abigail (Samaire Armstrong) begin to take charge as the teens attempt to "defeat" the Blood Countess. What they learn is that while the Blood Countess is a lethal figure in their gaming system, she also seems to have returned in human form in the South. The remaining members find themselves in a fight to defeat the villain with the hope that they can stay alive long enough to save others from her bloody trail of death.moreless
