Steam is a 2007 drama written and directed by Kyle Schickner. The movie centers around three women who meet inside a local steam room, befriend one another and begin discussing each other's lives. All three women range in age, marital status, and sexual experience. Elizabeth (Kate Siegel) is a never-married college freshman who struggles to come to terms with her bisexual curiosity. Laurie (Ally Sheedy) is a divorced, middle-aged woman who has just begun an affair with a young boy. And Doris (Ruby Dee) is an 80-year old widowed woman in search of finding new love, however old she may be. As each woman tells her story, they come to find their cases are not that unique or dissimilar after all. Steam explores the hardships that come with accepting yourself for who you are. The film includes guest appearances by comedian Chelsea Handler and Maxine Bahns. Pop in this inspirational classic for a good time.
