Steel City is a 2006 dramatic film about two brothers in a small Midwestern town dealing with the incarceration of their troubled father. The movie was directed by 2006 St. Louis Film Festival award winner Brian Jun. After family patriarch Carl Lee (John Heard) lands in the county jail on a vehicular manslaughter charge, his two sons P.J. (Tom Guiry), and Ben (Clayne Crawford) are forced to keep the dysfunctional family afloat. This proves to be a tough task due to Ben's resentment and P.J.'s youth. Because of Carl's poor relationship with Ben, P.J. is his only connection with the outside world. Both sons are working through a myriad of their own personal demons, which contribute to the family's downfall. During a short furlough from jail while awaiting his manslaughter trial, a devastating secret is revealed. This may be Carl's one and only attempt to right all his past transgressions and reconcile with his hurting family.
