Step Brothers (Unrated) is the slapstick collision of two forty-something men, neither of whom has ever grown up. Brennan Huff (Will Ferrell) and Dale Doback (John C. Reilly) end up living in the same house together when Brennan's mom, Nancy (Mary Steenburgen), marries Dale's dad Robert (Richard Jenkins). Both boys are a classic failure to launch, living off of their parents' negligence and over-indulgence. Neither is mature enough to put up with the other, so Robert finally threatens them both with expulsion if they don't find jobs. The job interviews, although hilarious, go nowhere. Robert announces that he and his new wife are going to go sail the world and that he is leaving the house to his other son, Derek (Adam Scott). Derek makes immediate plans to sell it and evict the boys, so the two losers team up together for the first time to rally against a common enemy. Further catastrophes jeopardize the new marriage and force Brennan and Dale into an adventure that might actually make them grow up, and this unrated version contains all the edgy content the first audiences missed.moreless
