Step Up 2 the Streets is a dance film that follows the story of a troubled teenage girl. Andie (Briana Evigan) is a street dancer who is living with her mother's friend, Sarah (Sonja Sohn), since her mother passed away. She belongs to a dance crew named the "410", who are training for an upcoming dance competition called 'The Streets'. Sarah warns Andie that if she doesn't start focusing more on her studies, she is going to send her to Texas to live with her Aunt. She transfers Andie to the Maryland School of the Arts (MSA) where she meets another dancer named Chase (Robert Hoffman). When Sarah starts to spend more time with Chase and begins to concentrate on her studies, the "410" kick her out of the crew. Sarah and Chase decide to gather a group of misfit dancers from MSA and start their own crew to compete at 'The Streets'. However, many obstacles stand in their way and it soon becomes evident that 'The Streets' may be too much for Andie to handle.
