Stranded, also known as The Shelter, is a 2001 Spanish science-fiction film directed by Mar''a Lid''n. In the year 2025, a crew of astronauts heads to Mars for the first manned expedition to the planet's surface. Unfortunately, the space shuttle crash lands on Mars, and the crew loses all contact with Earth. They know that it will take more than two years for Earth to send them any help, but their food, air, water, and supplies will only last for a few days. Captain Susana Sanchez (Mara Lidn), astrobiologist Fidel Rodrigo (Joaquim de Almeida) and crew member Herbert Sagan (Daniel Aser) decide to explore Mars to search for signs of life. Meanwhile, astronaut Baglioni (Vincent Gallo) and the crew's doctor, Jenny (Maria de Medeiros), form a romantic bond. Ultimately, the entire crew must face the grim reality that time is running out, and they must all try to survive in any way that they can.
