Strange Vengeance of Rosalie is a chilling and unusual drama about a woman who expresses her undying love for her "boyfriend" in the most bizarre ways. Virgil (Ken Howard), a blonde-haired, blue-eyed traveling salesman traverses the country on a business expedition when he picks up a hitchhiker along the way - an attractive, Native American teenage girl named Rosalie (Bonnie Bedelia). After spending just a few moments with Rosalie, Virgil realizes she is wise beyond her years. When she suggests they shack up in her house in New Mexico, Virgil follows orders eagerly. Despite her maturity, Rosalie doesn't seem to be all there - she slashes Virgil's tires to ensure he can't escape her. Growing more fond of Virgil, Rosalie then breaks one of Virgil's legs with an axe, in her greatest effort to keep him by her side. Rosalie then proceeds to take care of Virgil, who doesn't understand her odd affection for him. Strange Vengeance of Rosalie is very reminiscent of the all-time classic Misery starring James Caan and Cathy Bates.moreless
