Strange Wilderness is a comedy film directed by Fred Wolf and released in 2008. Thirty-something Peter Gaulke (Steve Zahn) learns that his eccentric father has recently died, leaving an unusual inheritance: a struggling television program called "Strange Wilderness." In a bid to keep the show on the air, Gaulke agrees to travel to Ecuador and film a two-week search for the mythical Bigfoot, begrudgingly funded by the studio that produces "Strange Wilderness." Getting there is half the problem; the journey is fraught with accidents, missed connections, detours and deaths. As Gaulke and his crew arrive in Ecuador and pick up Bigfoot's trail, they're horrified to learn that a competing (and very wealthy) group is also pursuing the creature. As the days pass with no sign of their target, Gaulke grows despondent. Now, he must do whatever he can to locate Bigfoot and pray that the cameras are rolling when he does!

Obviously the product of minimal effort by all parties involved, Strange Wilderness is a slovenly, slapped-together stoner comedy.
