Street Crimes is an urban police drama from 1992 starring Dennis Farina. Fed up with increasing crime and gang activity on their beat, two cops, Brian O'Neal (Farina) and Tony Carter (Michael Worth), open a youth center to divert young people from committing crimes. At the center, they teach young men to channel their energy and rage through boxing and martial arts. Carter even gets in the ring to fight local thug, Jimmy (Ron Yuan). When he wins, Carter is able to bring Jimmy over to his side of the drug war. The center's success arouses the interest of local gang leader, Gerardo (James T. Morris). He does his best to disrupt the efforts of O'Neal and Carter so that his drug business will always have more workers and customers. The climatic showdown allows Carter to showcase his martial arts skills and justify his eschewing of firearms. Street Crimes is a perfect B-movie featuring well-choreographed fights and a clear moral universe.moreless
