Stuart Bliss is a 1998 black comedy directed and written by Neil Greive. Stuart Bliss (Michael Zelnicker) is a successful marketing genius for a company that sells military supplies. His life is turned upside down when his wife Janet (Dea Lawrence) suddenly decides to leave him. Over time, Stuart slowly becomes deranged and paranoid as he begins to see signs of the apocalypse in his everyday life. Stuart starts to believe that his cream soda is radio-active and that his television set is possessed. He also thinks that religious zealots are taking over the world. Stuart's paranoid nature causes him to become obsessed with conspiracy theories and fantasies about the end of the world as his real life becomes meaningless while he tumbles towards insanity. Even everyday activities such as getting the mail turns out to be a twisted revelation for Stuart. The film's subtleties give cause to wonder whether Stuart is really crazy, or if the world really has begun to spin toward the end.moreless
