Released:
1984
Rating:
R

Stuck on You is a 1982 comedy film by directors Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz, starring Irwin Corey, Virginia Pena, Mark Mikulski, Albert Pia, and Norma Pratt. The third film in a series of a four "sexy comedies" that helped establish production company Troma, Stuck on You follows estranged couple Bill Andrews (Mark Mikulski) and Carol Griffiths (Virginia Penta) through their palimony suit against each other. When the angel Gabriel (Irwin Corey) is sent down to act as judge in their suit, with the true intention of reuniting the couple and reinspiring their love, things veer off the expected course of events. As they share their problems with him, he shares with them how their issues are concerns that all lovers for all time, going as far back as Adam (John Bigham) and Eve (June Martin), have faced. Stuck on You, 88 minutes of nonstop raunchy humor, is rated R.

Metacritic Score

  • 70

    Los Angeles Times Manohla Dargis

While much of the unlikely charm of the Farrellys' newest comedy, Stuck on You, comes from its conceptual purity, much of the film's humor comes from its blissful impurity.

  • 60

The New York Times A.O. Scott

It's a much funnier movie than the trailer would lead you to believe; it would almost have to be. But it is just not as consistent as their previous trash wallows.

  • 40

    Variety David Rooney

A one-joke affair about conjoined twins that feels like it bypassed the scripting stage and was filmed directly from the pitch, the comedy remains resoundingly unfunny.
