Submarine Command is a 1951 war film directed by John Farrow. The story revolves around Lieutenant Commander Ken White (William Holden), a Navy officer, who orders his crew to dive the submarine to avoid destruction during an enemy attack on the last day of World War II. This action saved the vessel and the crew, but the price is the loss of their captain and a fellow submariner. When the war is over and Lieutenant Commander White returns home to civilian life, he is still haunted by memories of the past event. The feelings of guilt and doubt over his decision never leave his troubled mind and are about to ruin his marriage. Just when he is about to resign his commission in the Navy to free himself from the traumatic memories, the Korean war breaks out. He is to command the same vessel in this new conflict. Will he prove himself able to overcome the flash backs from the past and lead his crew in this new assignment?moreless
