Suburban Girl is a 2007 comedy starring Sarah Michelle Gellar as a novice literary editor. Brett Eisenberg (Sarah Michelle Gellar) is just beginning her career as a New York editor and goes on her first big assignment, nervous and without confidence. She has a struggling relationship with her boyfriend, Jed (Chris Carmack), and the boss that she looked up to has just been fired and replaced. She does all of her editing in pencil, because she's afraid she may have to go back and change what she's done. Then she crosses paths with a publishing guru, Archie Knox (Alec Baldwin), who takes a liking to her. Archie is several years her senior and a recovering alcoholic. The relationship teeters between romance and the search for a surrogate father. Archie is dumbfounded when Brett tries to explain her smart phone to him, and he looks awkward following her into a candy store. For Archie, the experience is an exploration of a lost youth, while Brett grows to accept herself for who she is.moreless
