Sunshine Cleaning is a 2008 American comedy-drama film by director Christine Jeffs, starring Amy Adams, Emily Blunt, Jason Spevack, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Steve Zahn, and Alan Arkin. When thirty-something-year-old single mother Rose Lorkowski (Amy Adams) is told that hse must either put her rambunctious son, Oscar (Jason Spevack) on Attention Deficit Disorder medication or send him to a private school, she finds herself short on cash. Mac (Steve Zahn), Rose's ex-high-school-sweetheart and currently married lover, suggests that she go into the crime scene cleanup business to make the money she needs to pay her son's tuition. Together with her under-motivated going-nowhere sister, Norah (Emily Blunt), Rose start Sunshine Cleaning. A touching film about love, death, family, and priorities, the film was both critically and commercially well-received. Sunshine Cleaning won a 2009 Casting Society of America award and received nominations for a 2008 Grand Jury Prize and a 2008 Satellite Award.
