Movie Summary

Director:
Morgan Spurlock
Released:
2004
Rating:
PG-13
Super Size Me is a documentary film by Morgan Spurlock that takes aim at fast food giant Ronald McDonald, doing an experiment where for 30 days he only eats McDonalds. Spurlock ate McDonalds 3 times a day, supersizing his meal when possible. The film documents the physical and psychological effects it had on him, causing huge changes in his body, while experiencing drastic mood swings and sexual dysfunction. Spurlock was motivated to do this experiment because of the current obesity epidemic in America, and to show the corporate influence of the fast food industry as well as it's questionable practices in the name of profit. Super Size Me is a humorous yet scary look at the fast food industry, and one of the highest grossing documentaries ever.
