Support Your Local Gunfighter is a 1971 comedy-Western film starring James Garner in a story about a compulsive gambler and con artist who wanders into a small Wild West town and stumbles into a plot that could make him fabulously wealthy—or leave him dead in the streets. James Garner stars as Latigo Smith, who winds up in Purgatory, Colorado after ditching his rich but annoying fiancée, Goldie. Once in town, a gambling binge leaves Latigo broke and alone. However, he soon hears about a powerful gunfighter who is supposedly coming to town, and the rumor sparks an idea in Latigo's head. He'll get someone to pose as the feared outlaw for an easy score. When the real outlaw learns of an impersonator using his reputation to scam the small town, he rolls in on a quest for vengeance. Latigo will have to use all his wits to escape the killer's wrath and survive the ordeal. Support Your Local Gunfighter is a fun Western classic, co-starring Suzanne Pleshette and Harry Morgan.moreless
