Surgeon is a 1995 horror thriller written by Bernard Sloane and directed by Carl Schenkel, which tells the story of a controversial doctor who performs dark and unethical experiments on living patients without any remorse. As a little boy he was the witness of an unsuccessful surgery that resulted in the death of his brother. Deeply affected by the dramatic event, the boy grows up with the dream of becoming a surgeon to be able to put into application his psychotic childhood visions. Dr. Julian Mater (Sean Haberle) is more than a simple doctor who performs surgeries and writes prescriptions. Secretly, he runs experiments on live cell tissues of patients who are dying of terminal disease. When he is caught, his medical practice is discontinued and his doctor's license suspended. As it turns out, this punishment is not tough enough for Dr. Mater, because when the suspension period ends, he returns to his clinic to perform even more horrific experiments. The film is a reminder of the powerful mental effect of intense childhood memories.moreless
