Suspended Animation is a 2001 horror thriller written by Dorothy Tristan and directed by John D. Hancock. Set in the woods of Northern Michigan, the film follows animator Thomas Kempton (Alex McArthur) who is on a winter fishing trip with his friends. Tom gets separated from the group after a freak accident ruins his snowmobile while he is searching for a lost backpack. He is rescued by sisters Vanessa (Laura Esterman) and Ann Boulette (Sage Allen), who turn out to be psychotic cannibals intent on eating him for dinner. With the hope that his friends can help him and his own determination, Tom must fight to escape the cannibals and get to the bottom of their evil plans. Along the way, he learns that one of his cannibal captors has a daughter, Clara (Maria Cina). As the film moves toward its conclusion, Tom faces off against an avalanche and a missing cannibal. In the end, he finds out whether blood is really thicker than water.moreless
