Sweepers is a 1998 dramatic action thriller directed by Keoni Waxman. Christian Erickson (Dolph Lundgren) is the Humanitarian Order of Chivalry leader and a leading demolition expert who specializes in disarming mine fields. Along with his team and his 11-year-old son, Johnny (Rowan Southern), Erickson is in Angola on a humanitarian mission to destroy mine fields in rural villages. As a result of mine fields, adults and children in these villages are being killed and maimed each day. A personal tragedy makes Christian reconsider his chosen career. When land mines are used on American soil, everyone takes notice and wants to know about them. Michelle Flynn (Claire Stansfield) is a U.S. military specialist sent to Angola to learn about a particular type of land mine. She reaches out to Christian Erickson to help her in the war torn Angola. Can Christian overcome his personal stress to help Michelle, or is his pain too great?
