Swept Away is a 2002 film about a bored and spoiled wife of a tycoon, Amber Leighton (Madonna), who ends up stranded on a Mediterranean island with a fisherman, Giuseppe Espisito (Adriano Gianni). They end up on the island when Amber, on a yachting cruise with her husband and some friends, insists Guiseppe take her out an inflatable dinghy despite his warnings about the danger. She has insulted and ordered him around during the whole cruise and he complies. Once marooned on the island, the tables turn and Guiseppe gains the upper hand. He takes pleasure in ordering her around, and she has no choice but to listen since, as an experienced fisherman, he is the only one of them who can provide them with food. He makes her wait on him hand in foot but the tables turn back again when the two begin to fall in love. Swept Away was directed by Madonna's then-husband Guy Ritchie, who adapted the script from the 1974 film by Lina Wertmuller.

There is no credible feeling here, no comedy, no eroticism.
