Taggart is a classic western tale about a rancher's son that seeks revenge for the death of his mother and father. With his greedy eyes on the land owned by his family, sinister rancher Ben Blazer (Emile Meyer) organizes a cattle stampede that kills Kent Taggart's (Tony Young) mother and father. So, seeking justice for the evil deed, the crafty gunslinger starts a shootout of his own, killing the perpetrator and his son. But right before he dies, Blazer puts out a hit on Taggart's head, and team of bounty hunters let by Jay Jason (Dan Duryea) answer the call. Pursued by the gunmen, Taggart flees into Indian territory, but when he is taken in by helpful minor Adam Stark (Dick Foran), he realizes his battle has just begun. Helping Stark and his daughter Miriam (Jean Hale) fend off attacks from all sides, Taggart just may find out the true cost of revenge. R.G. Springsteen directs this well constructed western with all the usual fare.moreless
