Talk of the Town is a film from Hollywood's Golden Age about three characters who become unlikely roommates. Leopold Dilg (Cary Grant) is falsely accused of burning down the mill where he worked and causing the death of his foreman. During his trial, Dilg escapes and turns to his friend Nora Shelley (Jean Arthur) for help. Nora lets Dilg stay in her home, they've known each other since their schooldays and Dilg has always had a crush on Nora. Nora has also rented out a room to Supreme Court candidate Michael Lightcap (Ronald Colman). Dilg eventually lets Lightcap know about his trial and the reason he's hiding out with Nora. Lightcap is intrigued and starts to find out what really happened to Dilg at the mill. Dilg is already in love with Nora, and Lightcap quickly falls in love too. Nora likes both men, but who will she choose, the escaped criminal or the future Supreme Court Judge?
