Tall Man Riding is a story of revenge in big sky country. Cowboy Larry Madden (Randolph Scott) returns home to Montana to seek revenge against ranch owner Tuck Ordway (Robert Barrat) for publicly humiliating him and destroying his relationship with Ordway's daughter, Corrina (Dorothy Malone). Madden returns to oust Ordway from his land and take over his ranch. In his quest for revenge, Madden comes up against enemies old and new. Saloon owner Seabo Pearlo (John Baragrey) and his singer Reva (Peggy Castle) compete with Madden to take over Ordway's ranch. Madden also encounters gunslinger, the Peso Kid (Paul Richards), who is the cold-blooded murderer of Corrina's husband, William Ching (Rex Willard). This Western melodrama hits all the right notes with gunfights, lush scenery, and a clear moral universe where wrongs are punished and rights are rewarded. Better than your average B-Western, Tall Man Riding is an unknown gem from classic Hollywood.
