Tall Tale is a 1995 film about one boys active imagination and how anything is possible with a little help from unexpected friends. The film follows the story of a young boy named Daniel Hackett (Nick Stahl) who must help save his father's (Stephen Lang) farm in Paradise Valley from an evil land developer named J.P. Styles (Scott Glen). Styles wants the Hackett land to extend his railroad to the Pacific Ocean. Daniel is obsessed with reading about famous American legends and while reading one day falls asleep in a rowboat. When he awakes he is far from home. Trying to find his way back he is hurled into a series of adventures in which he meets Pecos Bill (Patrick Swayze), Paul Bunyan (Oliver Platt), and John Henry (Roger Aaron Brown). Together they tear through the wilderness one exciting jaunt after another. Finally, the three American "tall tales" all help Daniel overthrow the evil Styles and help keep Paradise Valley' paradise.
