Targets is the 1968 low budget low budget thriller from schlockmeister Roger Corman (Little Shop of Horrors, The Masque of the Red Death), which marks the directorial debut of legendary director Peter Bogdanovich (Daisy Miller, Paper Moon, What's Up Doc?). An aging Old Horror movie star, Byron Orlock (Boris Karloff, Frankenstein, The Old Dark House) has decided to retire because he feels his kind of horror doesn't scare anyone anymore, but agrees to a last appearance at the Reseda drive-in, while a young director, Sammy Michaels (Peter Bogdanovich), who is in love with Orlock's young assistant (Nancy Hsueh), tries rather unsuccessfully to convince him to star in his movie, which he wrote with him in mind. Meanwhile, a young man called Bobby Thompson (Tim O'Kelly) goes insane and decides to use his training as a sniper, which he was in Vietnam, to kill as many people as he could, starting with his wife, mother and a random neighbor, then shooting people driving on the highway, and then he goes to his final destination; the Reseda drive-in.moreless
